Rachael Mitchell

Ballet and Modern Teacher

Rachael began dancing at the age of 4 and studied ISTD ballet and modern up to an advanced level as well as assisting in classes. She was a member of Southern Youth Ballet during her teens and early twenties dancing many solo and principal roles including ‘Clara’ and the ‘Snow Queen’ in ‘The Nutcracker’ and ‘Dawn’ in ‘Coppelia’.

 

She then moved on to become a choreographer for Southern Youth Ballet shows as well as a teacher for both the junior and senior sections of the company.

 


After completing her A levels, Rachael worked in local health clubs gaining qualifications in both gym and studio instructing as well as many other studio disciplines. During this time she also achieved her

 

Diploma in Dance Instruction in ballet and Diploma in Dance Education in modern. 
Rachael has over 10 years experience teaching in dance schools throughout East Sussex along with choreographing for many festivals and shows. She has had many exam successes with her students throughout the grades including Advanced 2 in both ballet and modern. Her students have gone on to train at top dance colleges and work professionally.

All of our teachers are fully enhanced DBS checked, have personal liability insurance, BGU qualified to the required level, safe guarding and first aid qualified. And recently completed a course on infection and prevention, covid-19 and fire risks.
