Spirit Elite began in May 2015, when head coach Bexx felt that there wasn’t a competitive cheerleading squad on offer for the children in Uckfield. Starting with just 3 squads Spirit Elite now has 6 Recreational Squads, 5 competition Squads, 6 Stunt Groups and this year we have tumble solos and duets.
Bexx has loved setting up the only competitive cheer squad in this area and has enjoyed sharing her passion for cheerleading. Still today her main aim is teach new cheerleaders the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.
We are looking forward to where we go next.
Spirit Elite is the only Allstar squad in Uckfield, East Sussex.
It is run by Head Coach Bexx, who is Level 1 and 2 BGU qualified
Head Coach Bexx has over 10 years experience in cheerleading and 6 years in coaching. She first found her love for Cheerleading when she became one of Brighton and Hove Albion's Gullys Girls where she went on to become the captain and run the squad.
Bexx Continued to cheer for BHAFC when she went to Uni in Chichester, where she joined the Uni squad Chichester Cheetahs. This is where Bexx discovered Competitive Cheerleading and with the squad competed in BCA competitions in Telford and Eastbourne at level 2/3. She also won a trophy with her level 3 stunt group.
Our aim at Spirit Elite is to teach children about teamwork and sportsmanship and how important this is to achieve great results.
Spirit Elite...Where all cheerleaders are stars...
Competitive Allstar Cheerleading is different to pom pom dancing, which is the stereotypical understanding of cheerleading. It looks at the 4 elements of cheerleading and combines then together into a routine performed at competitions. The areas we work on are tumbling, stunts, jumps and a dance section.
We take part in local events such as fetes, Uckfield Festival, Uckfield Carnival and Late Night Shopping. As well as competitions in the south of England. WE also have an annual showcase where everyone receives a medal for taking part that year and trophies are awarded to certain individuals.
We also do fundraisers throughout the year such as bag packing, Halloween discos, and fun runs and are looking at some ideas for the new season. We have previously raised £1600, which paid for a tumble air track and a back handspring tumbler.
